TAMARA STEWART: Latest News

Two #1's in only 2 weeks! - August 18, 2010

Long been regarded as one of Australia's finest writer's, Tamara Stewart has managed to top the charts twice in the space of only weeks!

Two of Tamara's songs, recorded by two lovely ladies, took it all the way to Number 1 in May/June this year.

The first to take top spot, was BRAVE, an uplifting track about moving on and being bold enough to 'step into the new chapter'. Co-written in Nashville with Jenny Madison, BRAVE was always destined to find it's way onto a special album. Tracy Kileen, the multi award winning singer, released it as her first single off her 2nd album in May this year.

The second to go all the way- is MR YESTERDAY, an edgy gutsy song about walking away from Mr Wrong. Victoria Baillie, this years Golden Guitar Winner for Best New Talent, recorded the track, and the clip hit #1 position on Country Music Televisions Chart. Tamara co-write the song with Multi award winning songstress Melinda Schneider.

Currently in Nashville throughout August, writing for her 4th album, Tamara will no doubt bring home a few extra that will make their way onto fellow Aussie artists albums!

"I'm keen to get back there" Tamara said "it's been too long between visits!"

Fans will get a chance to hear the new songs when she returns in September, at one of the many shows about to be announced!

Golden Guitar Nominations for TAMARA and TANGERINE SKY ! - November 11, 2009

Troy Cassar-Daley, Tommy Emmanuel, Anne Kirkpatrick, Tamara Stewart, Sunny Cowgirls, James Blundell plus many, many more came together earlier this year under the banner Australian Country Music Unites to raise money for
The Salvation Army Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

‘Tangerine Sky’ the song (written by Award wining Songwriter and Producer Tamara Stewart) collaborated Australian Country Music’s finest in an anthem of triumph amongst tragedy.

It was announced Wednesday 11th November, 2009 that the song received TWO NOMINATIONS in the Australian Country Music’s Prestigious “Golden Guitar” Awards.

“VOCAL COLLABORATION of the year” and “HERITAGE SONG of the year” (songwriter) will be hotly contested amongst fellow Nominees.

Released in April this year and debuting at #47 on the National ARIA charts (between Brittany Spears and Kings Of Leon) And #10 on CMC Video chart ‘Tangerine Sky’ continues to raise much needed funds for those trying to re-build lives after losing not only homes, farmland, but in so many cases- lives.

Since the tragedy, Songwriter, Producer & Co-ordinator Tamara Stewart says she has been inundated with stories and letters from survivors of the tragedy and those who fought the fires in February this year .

“The reality of what we are trying to achieve is just so humbling” Tamara said
“More often than not, awards ceremonies single out an artist and praise their talent and integrity- but Australian Country Music Unites’ is a very raw representation of the Australian Spirit and the Australian People. Using our voices to speak/sing on behalf of those affected is not something we take lightly- and to be honoured and acknowledged for that- well, it’s just remarkable”

Tamara runs for Lifeline! - July 22, 2009

Tamara is not only hard at work writing her next album (slated for release early 2010) she is busy training to participate in the infamous Sydney Marathon 'City 2 Surf' in August.
"I've really let my fitness levels slip away over the last couple of years so it's a personal challenge for me for sure!' Tamara said.
The 14km track will be the stage for Tamara's challenge - but making the trek 'easier' will be her #1 motivation, raising money for one of her FAVORITE charities 'LIFELINE'.
"It's an incredible organization" Tamara told us "they are there for people when they feel alone and lost - in need of someone to care or guide them to higher ground- I'm very very proud to be trying to raise money for them- I'll wear their logo with great pride during the marathon".
Admittedly, Tamara says it will be a challenge to run the complete track - and would be just as pleased to walk the entire 14 km's- as long as she completes it - her fundraising job is done- but she is enjoying the benefits of the training sessions.
"I've missed running- it's nice to be pounding the ground again- And it's been very cool getting the emails and messages on facebook from fans who know my mission and want to encourage me- thanks so much to those who have donated already- but we need more!"
We urge you to donate to Tamara's cause- by logging onto the HERALD HERO's site and pledging your support!

As Tamara's prepares to shoot her next clip "Groundhog Day" in the coming months, it is a welcome achievement. "I love doing clips and the whole idea of linking a visual story to the songs. GROUNDHOG DAY out there in radio land! - August 20, 2008

After much success of her first two singles lifted from the album, Tamara's latest offering is being hailed as a "hot hit prediction" at radio across the country.

In September 2007, she surprised everyone by releasing (like a magic trick she re-appeared!) the first single 'DRIVE". It certainly got that distinct sexy voice of Tamara's back on the radio with great force! An especially warm welcome back- with industry and fans finally being able to answer the question 'what ever happened to Tamara Stewart!?!"

Her second release "LESSONS (I'll Survive) was a more intimate and honest look at the journey thus far for our sensationally talented songstress, with the video for the track sitting at #20 on Country Music Channel Video chart at time of reporting this article.

Her latest offering, "GROUNDHOG DAY" will defiantly strike a chord with listerners. The song (writen by Tamara) is about the occassionally repetative and mundane tasks that go along with parenthood. But amidst the frustrations- loving every minute of it.

"It is a personal story- definatly" Tamara says. "Inspired by my two beautiful sisters- both of which are fabulous parents."

It's a fun yet edgy song, showing Tamara as the queen of kick ass country music and will no doubt be a favourite amongst fans and industry alike!
