Born and raised daughter of a “Factory Man” in Mooroopna in Victoria, Tamara began singing and performing at the tender age of 10. Dreaming of “overnight success” Tamara soon learned that ‘paying your due’s” would be her lessons in life. After knocking on doors for around 10 years- one finally opened. Her debut album “The Way The World Is” (ABC/EMI) was a stunning piece of work catapulting Tamara into the forefront of Australian Country Music‘s spotlight. Achieving multiple Number 1 hits, on both radio and TV, touring with the hottest acts in the business- Tamara had finally ‘arrived”.
Her second album self titled- was released in 2005. A more contemporary singer/songwriter album, it opened doors for Tamara in the main stream world and her reputation as one of this country’s most talented song- writers was well carved. It’s a stunning album exploring a ‘transition’ for Tamara not only in genre but also emotionally, artistically and personally.
The latest release “Love Laughter Lessons” is a beautiful collection of songs, with Tamara finding a new level of self assurance. The ‘theme” is one of triumph.
In 2009, Tamara's home state of Victoria was at the forefront of newscasts all over the world as it was ablaze in Bushfires that rocked the Nation. The devastation was like nothing Australia had seen with many lives lost and homes completely destroyed.
Tamara answered the call with "TANGERINE SKY" a beautiful anthem promoting the compassion we all felt as we helplessly watched the State burn.
Calling on a few favours, Tamara produced the track bringing in Australia's finest Troy Cassar-Daley, Tommy Emmanuel, James Blundell, Dianna Corcoran, Pete Denahy to name a few. Raising money for the The Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal, the song also received two nomination sat the 2010 Golden Guitar Awards.
Tamara is busy writing and preparing for a very special project..... her fourth album which is due for release in months, there is also another angle to this project that will no doubt draw attention to the woman behind the incredible songs.
